چکیده

Preparation of surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanostructures with both high sensitivity as well as high reproducibility has always been difficult and costly for routine SERS detection. Here we demonstrate air-stable metallic glassy nanowire arrays (MGNWAs), which were prepared by a cheap and rapid die nanoimprinting technique, could exhibit high SERS enhancement factor (EF) as well as excellent reproducibility. It shows that Pd(40.5)Ni(40.5)P(19) MGNWA with nanowires of 55 nm in diameter and 100 nm in pitch possesses high SERS activity with an EF of 1.1 × 10(5), which is 1-3 orders of magnitudes higher than that of the reported crystal Ni-based nanostructures, and an excellent reproducibility with a relative standard deviation of 9.60% measured by 121 points over an area of 100 μm*100 μm. This method offers an easy, rapid, and low-cost way to prepare highly sensitive and reproducible SERS substrates and makes the SERS more practicable.

Compact Shielding of Graphene Monolayer Leads to Extraordinary SERS-Active Substrate with Large-Area Uniformity and Long-Term Stability

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) can significantly boost the inherently weak Raman scattering signal and provide detailed structural information and binding nature of the molecules on the surface. Despite the long history of this technology, SERS has yet to become a sophisticated analytical tool in practical applications. A major obstacle is the absence of high-quality and stable SERS-a...

Single nanowire on a film as an efficient SERS-active platform.

Fabricating well-defined and highly reproducible platforms for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is very important in developing practical SERS sensors. We report a novel SERS platform composed of a single metallic nanowire (NW) on a metallic film. Optical excitation of this novel sandwich nanostructure provides a line of SERS hot spots (a SERS hot line) at the gap between the NW and the...

Site-Selective Controlled Dealloying Process of Gold-Silver Nanowire Array: a Simple Approach towards Long-Term Stability and Sensitivity Improvement of SERS Substrate

Limitations of achieving highly sensitive and stable surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate greatly concern the suitable method for fabrication of large-area plasmonic nanostructures. Herein we report a simple approach using template-based synthesis to create a highly ordered two-dimensional array of gold-silver alloy nanowires, followed by the controlled dealloying process. This pa...

Tailoring Optical Properties of Silicon Nanowires by Au Nanostructure Decorations: Enhanced Raman Scattering and Photodetection

Metallic nanoparticles (NPs) decorated semiconductor nanowires (NWs) heterostructures show significant promise in enhanced optical and opto-electrical properties due to the coupling of surface plasmon to nanowires. Here, we demonstrate a galvanic displacement based strategy to achieve in situ nucleation of Au nanoparticles and then postgrowth into higher order Au nanostructures such as dimers, ...

Heteroepitaxial decoration of Ag nanoparticles on Si nanowires: a case study on Raman scattering and mapping.

Metallic nanoparticle-decorated silicon nanowires showed considerable promise in a wide range of applications such as photocatalytic conversion, surface-enhanced Raman scattering, and surface plasmonics. However there is still insufficient amount of Raman scattering in Si nanowires with such decoration. Here we report the heteroepitaxial growth of Ag nanoparticles on Si nanowires by a surface r...
